Harness waste heat of the exhaust gas to heat up the engine coolant.

EHRS VERNET SOLUTIONS

Mainly on Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) engines, exhaust gas heats up the engine coolant after the catalytic converter and particle filters. When the engine starts cold, a control valve diverts the flow of exhaust gas through a heat exchanger, where the thermal energy of the gas heats the vehicle’s internal fluids. As a result, the engine warms up faster and reduces emissions while improving fuel efficiency.
